Easter at St Barnabas

Updated: Apr 5, 2022

Despite some random snow over the last week (did anyone else get some!?), Spring is very much on its way. Although we remain in the period of Lent we are looking ahead to Holy Week and Easter, where we rejoice in Jesus' resurrection (and some of us may also be enjoying some chocolate eggs!).

Palm Sunday | 10th April

Palm Sunday procession - Meet at the Venture Centre at 9.50am if you'd like to take part!

10:30am - Communion at St Barnabas Church

Holy Week | 11th-13th April

11th, 12th & 13th: Evening meditation from St Barnabas | 7.00pm

Maundy Thursday - 14th April:

Eucharist from Gloucester Cathedral | 11:00am
Eucharist and Watch | 7.00pm | St Barnabas Church

Good Friday - 15th April

St Barnabas are pleased to have been invited to observe it together with our neighbours as the Church in Tuffley and it will run as follows with each element following the traditions of the respective denomination:

10.00am–12.00pm: Messy Easter (Church in Tuffley) | St Barnabas Halls

1.00pm: Communion Service | Grange Baptist Church, Grange Road

1.30pm–2.30pm: Walk of Witness in Tuffley | Starting at the Grange Baptist Church

3.00pm: The Celebration of the Passion of the Lord | English Martyrs (RC), Tuffley Lane

These events flow into one another and all are very welcome at all or some of them. Please support this opportunity to gather together ecumenically with our brothers and sisters on this important day.

There is an option of a C of E "Last hour" service at St Katharine's Matson (GL4 6DX). If you would like to attend this service and have mobility issues, let the office know and we will arrange for access.

St Barnabas church will also be open for quiet reflection on Good Friday from 10am -4pm.

Easter Eve - Saturday 16th April

Confirmation and Easter Eve Service: 8.00pm | Gloucester Cathedral

Easter Day - Sunday 17th April

All Age Communion with Baptism and Easter Egg hunt: 10.30am | St Barnabas Church
