Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God
- Phillipians 4:6
We are continuing to meet virtually on a Sunday morning at our usual time of 10.00am to worship together. After careful consideration, we have decided to pre-record our Sunday service, which is then "premiered live" on our Facebook page, allowing people to comment and talk in real time without needing to worry about some of the technological problems that may come from trying to meet through a video-conferencing app. We meet for Zoom coffee after the service at 11am, which is a wonderful time of community to catch up, share news and request prayer. The Zoom link can be found in our newsletter. You can also watch the video on YouTube or on this page.
Craft and Worship
Our Craft and Worship service is still running and can be viewed on our Facebook page, YouTube channel and on the Videos section of our website. Craft and Worship aims to help us develop our relationships with God and to learn the good news in an accessible and practical way. Craft activities vary from drawing and colouring through to building a bug hotel and bird table. Craft and Worship is structured with those with additional needs in mind but enjoyed by many.
Resources for Children
Prayer remains important for all of the family, particularly in times like these where children may be feeling more anxious. We encourage everyone to try to bring children into their prayer lives to build their relationship with God but also for an opportunity for them to discuss their worries with those that care for them. We are still running Little Messy Church (pre-school children and their families) and Messy Church (primary school children and their families) through Live Streaming on a private Facebook group. If you would like to join, please contact Rev Sarah Todd.
We are live streaming Morning and Evening Prayer, Monday-Saturday at 10.00am and 9.00pm on our Facebook page. If you do not have access to Facebook, you can view these on our Videos page (at the top). There are many ways of keeping prayer in your daily life whilst we are in this period of isolation.
Engage in Morning/Evening Prayer using the "Worship at Home" pack, which can be found here
Join thousands of other Christians in saying the Lord's Prayer at 9.15am and 9.15pm, beginning and ending in prayer together
If you have a smart phone, download the Church of England's prayer apps, which can be found here
Listen to or read the Prayer for the Day on The Church of England's website, which can be found here. There are a number of different resources on this website, including prayer resources responding to the Coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak
If you would like to pray with someone, try using a video conferencing app like Zoom or simply pick up the phone and ask
Our Barnabas Buddies scheme is now live! Barnabas Buddies is a phone-based scheme offering prayer, support or just a chat. It's a way of keeping connected, particularly if you don't have social media. If you would like to volunteer or have a phone call yourself then please contact Katherine Kear and someone would be more than happy to chat with you
