We are delighted to announce that we are now opening for Sunday Worship in the church building from Sunday 9th August for a service of Holy Communion. The building has been rearranged in accordance with social distancing measures and we can seat 9 "bubbles" of four. Visiting will be by booking only and the booking system will open on Wednesday each week. You can book by contacting Rev Sarah at firstname.lastname@example.org. We understand that inevitably, we will not be able to fit everyone into the building that wants to book. If this is you, you will automatically be given a place for the next service in church. If you are wishing to come to a service in this time, here's a few things that may be helpful to know!
Please arrive at the time the service is due to start. For example, if Holy Communion is at 9am, we ask that you arrive at 9am and join the queue in the car park. One of welcome team will direct you in one at a time and show you to your seat
Entrance is through the "South Porch", which is the doors by the steps in the car park (not the big double doors!). If you require an accessible entrance then please use the usual door, which for those who haven't visited before, can be found by walking down the path towards the memorial garden
The government guidance is now that face coverings are to be worn when visiting. Please wear one when you arrive and if you are in need of one, we have some available for any donation. You will also need to wash yours hands on arrival and exit
Holy Communion will be a little different to keep everyone safe. Stewards will let you know what has changed when you arrive, or you can get in touch beforehand.
Please only bring necessary items. You are welcome to bring your own bible if you would like to and all the words will be on the screen. If you have any accessibility requirements and would like to check whether these can be met then please get in touch.
The pictures below were taken for private prayer but still give a good idea of what to expect
We are open for private prayer on Thursdays 1030-1200 and Sundays 1500-1630. We will not be taking bookings but it would be helpful if you could let us know in advance if you are coming (if you can!). We have put social distancing measures in place so the building does look very different. We have spaces for 9 people to sit (with a member of their household if present) and we have positioned the chairs so that you have a clear view of the altar and cross.
Entry is through the South Porch, exiting through the Pilgrim Door by following the one way system. If you require disabled access that you will still be able to enter and exit through the Pilgrim Door as usual. We ask that you wear a mask to help keep each other safe and wash your hands using the gel provided when arriving an exiting. As per the guidance from the Church of England, we will not be able to provide bibles but you are very welcome to bring yours. To respect the different ways people pray, we ask that you are quiet when inside the building. At this time, there will not be anyone available to pray with you but if you would like personal prayer, please get in touch and we can arrange it over the phone or through video chat.
Two church volunteers will be present so just ask if anything is unclear!
